Our fourth annual “New Coat Drive"

Dear Community Partner:

I am writing to request your support of our fourth annual “New Coat Drive.”  The Prince George’s County Office of Community Relations is spearheading a coat drive to benefit the less fortunate children and adults living in Prince George’s County, Maryland, on December 6, 2014.

There are currently 440 children and 200 adults receiving services from the Prince George’s County Department of Social Services, homeless shelters, foster care, and crisis and family emergency programs in the county. Your support of our New Coat Drive would make a significant difference in their quality of life. While a county agency is not a 501 (c) (3) charity, donations made to a government unit for public purposes are eligible income tax deductions.  Our Tax ID number is 52-6000998.  We are in the process of creating a press release and other ads in support of this very important event and would appreciate your prompt response.

Prince George’s County will highlight companies that are supporting this worthy cause.  If you are able to partner with us by donating any number of coats or gift certificates, please contact our office at the address below and provide us with three 12”X 12” signs with your company logo.  The signs will be displayed at the Prince George’s Sports and Learning Complex on December 6, 2014 in recognition of your contribution and support.  In addition, we will formally thank you for your support on our webpage and in our newsletter.  Someone from my office will contact you by November 14, 2014 regarding your decision.

Thank you for taking the time to review this request.  Please feel free to contact Dereck Davis on (301) 952-4729 if you require additional information.  I look forward to your favorable response.

Office of Community Relations
